Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Farias is an experienced and successful HVAC sales and operations manager with over 20 years experience and deep knowledge of the Puerto Rico and Latin America Market. From 2000 through 2012 he worked for Johnson Controls (a key UPM Group competitor), managing sales for their HVAC division and later managing the HVAC Systems Branch in Puerto Rico. Prior to that, he worked at diverse positions at York, McQuay and Lennox in Puerto Rico and Miami. Originally from Peru, Mr. Farias holds a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Almonte has more than 17 years of experience in the Building Automation Systems industry in Puerto Rico. He worked as a Lead Projects Engineer at Coninco for ten years. He led the BMS implementation team at Amgen on a contract basis, meeting the strict requirements of pharma and biotech manufacturing operations. Finally, he worked as Sales Engineer at HVAC Supply, a division of Comfort Systems USA. He has experience and knowledge in the following protocols: Invensys Signal, Wonderware, Johnson Controls METASYS, cGMP, SOO, SOW, ICO, RD, SAT, URS, IFC, and KMC Controls. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from New York State University.
Juan C. Narvaez
Manager, Projects Department
Mr. Narvaez holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico with over 15 years of experience working with commercial and industrial HVAC projects, and 5 years working with CCTV projects. Lead Development Engineer and Project Manager for several projects such as LMM International Airport, Mercedita Airport, Merck Pharmaceutical, Municipality of Cidra, Lilly Pharma, Metropolitan Detention Center, among others for the PR Schneider branch. He's specific expertise and experience ranges from the project capture phase through the design phase, including the development of technical aspects of proposals,estimation, scopes of work, operational intent documents, design intent documents, commissioning plans, m&v plans.
Service Mechanical Department Manager
Service Mechanical Department Manager Mr. Santiago holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He has been working in the building solutions industry for the past 17 years. He has a solid experience in project management, sales and HVAC systems and projects. He has worked in companies such as: Johnson Controls and Honeywell where he developed his expertise in air conditioning Design & Build projects, BMS controls, fire alarm systems, and access control.

Martinez holds a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology from the Interamerican University of PR and an MBA in Management and Sales from the University of Phoenix, PR Campus. Mr. Martinez has over 20 years of experience in fileds such as telecommunications, security, building management systems, energy control systems and electronic security for industrial, commercial and government industries. Throughout his career he has been awarded for his accomplishments in sales with the following: Great Increase Year over Year (2007), Top Security Sales World Wide (2007) and the President Club Award for Outstanding Margin Contribution (2007 and 2008) at the Schneider PR Branch prior to its acquisition by UPM Group.
Facility Solutions Advisor
Mr. Soto holds a BS in Industrial Engineer from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He possesses more than 10 years of experience as a technology consultant for industrial and commercial companies in systems such as: HVAC Controls, Building Management, Energy Management, Fire Alarm, Security and Enterprise Integrator. He has worked as Sales Engineer at UPM and Honeywell. He is specialized in maintenance services for air conditioning equipment for commercial and industrial buildings and in solutions from manufactures like Invensys, TAC, Honeywell and Schneider Electric. He is also an associate member of the Association of Energy Engineers.
Facility Solutions Advisor
Mr. Luis D. Marrero, BSEE was brought on board after the Advent Morro investment, increasing the volume of projects and expanding the client portfolio for the Company. Holding a B.A. on Electrical Engineering from the Interamerican University, Marrero joined UPM Group with a background experience as an associate engineer for the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority of Puerto Rico (A.A.A) & Regulations and Permissions Administration
(A.R.P.E) were he gained substantial experience on Auto Cad, PLC programming, DAQ Hardware & Software programming, Controller & Filter Design, Workbench, Lab View and Fiber Optics.
Mr. Santiago holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. He has a solid experience in project management, sales, HVAC Systems and Building Automation System/Control Panel Design. He has worked in companies such as: Johnson Controls (Distribution Territory Manager and System Estimator), Smart Contractor (Operations Manager) and West Electric (Field Supervisor) where he developed successfully his project management expertise in the building solutions field. He possesses vast knowledge in Current Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA Regulations as well.
Mr. Rivas is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience and background in general/operations management, engineering design, university professor and consultant. His most recent position was founder and president of an energy savings company specialized in projects with guaranteed savings,with emphasis in distribution losses, mechanical systems and illumination. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM);and a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP). His previous employers include;Intel, Hewlett Packard, Flexible Packaging,and Hughes Aircraft in California among others. Luis has a BSEE Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, and an MSE from the University of California. He also completed a Master in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Carlo joined UPM on September of 2011 and previously, was the VP of an energy savings company for 5 years. He is a licensed engineer, member of the CIAPR and obtained his BSEE and BSIE degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He is also a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and is certified as a Power Quality Professional and as Measurement and Verification Professional. With a successful career in management, both in the government and the manufacturing industry, he brings to UPM vast knowledge and experience in subjects such as: project implementation; energy savings and verification; and engineering (electrical, industrial, and quality).
